Margaritaville Pigeon Forge Staycation

A trip into the Cozy, Southern Pigeon Forge Tennessee was really enjoyable and I was really excited to have the opportunity to discover Tennessee on the Island at pigeon forge. This was my first time ever going down to Tennessee and I was happily greeted by the amazing team at Margaritaville and the amazing views of the Smokey Mountains.

Upon entering the Island at Pigeon Forge, my guest and I were eager to check-in and received a huge welcome package field of The Island at Pigeon Forge merch and with lists of tons of things to do for our 2-night stay. Here are some awesome things we checked out on our adventure and some recommendations if you guys are ever looking to book a stay here on the Island.

Unwind In The Fountain Room

This was honestly my 2nd favorite part of the trip, unwinding and really soaking in the cozy vibes. The rooms were stunning and just filled with warmth and were much needed for relaxing and unwinding. With the Cozy Fireplace and tunes from the outside fountain water shows and the wonderful bathroom that almost felt like a sauna, it was hard not to want to end the day short and just relax!

I went with the fountain room for this trip to be able to overlook the main attraction of the Island and see more of the town and people out and about. We still have to be cautious during this time and social distance so this was a nice view to still experience some livelihood during the trip at a distance and was the best of both world as you could enjoy the balcony live entertainment or close it off when wanting to just be inside the room and enjoy the amazing electric fireplace.

If you prefer more quietness and enjoy being more secluded I think the Lake room or Village would be the perfect option for booking a stay as you don’t hear much during the day with all the fountain show tunes!

Latitude Bar

The Latitude bar was a treat for sure when coming back from the room and exploring the shops on the island. The bar was great for of course trying out the many flavors of the margaritas, but also conveniently enjoying some dinner or lunch if you want the option to still be in the hotel and not interact too much in a restaurant setting to be extra safe.

The Island at Pigeon Forge also allows flexibility of ordering from the latitude bar, and bringing your foods or beverages in the room for your convenience.

Overall, I really enjoyed the option of eating out or enjoying it from the comfort of the room. It also has a huge fireplace next to the Latitude bar and serves as a great place to work if you’re a work from home person like me. I did this trip during the weekday so still had to manage my remote working schedule with the trip, and decided to utilize the space to get some work done as well while enjoying a strawberry margarita from the bar!

Moonshine Taste Testing

Moonshine taste testing was a very last-minute thing my Guest and I decided to checkout, and we didn’t realize it was right in the middle of the fountain. We passed by it as they were closing and they were nice enough to give us a taste testing experience and were still full of energy throughout the whole experience with giving us more details on the different moonshines. This was my first time tasting moonshine and I had no idea what it was! Come to find out this is something I would once in a blue moon take 1 shot of so that I won’t overly indulge in this pure alcohol.

My favorite flavor was the last one we tried out which was the Butter Pecan. It reminded me of a smooth Starbucks drink. I am not a fan of alcoholic espressos and that’s what I thought it would taste like, but this one was very good and tasted rich without any aftertaste. It almost tasted like a sweet treat which is what you want to be careful of with alcohol! :)

I had to leave with a bottle of it as a souvenir as well as a cute “Southern hottie” mug that I didn’t know I purchased with that label on it and shot glass to end the trip. I think I just grabbed whatever as the moonshine was kicking in, but am very happy with my souvenir purchases as they were super relatable. This was my favorite adventure for the last day because it was an unexpected experience before leaving so I recommend stopping by the shop!

Mountain Rollercoaster

The Rocky mountain roller coaster in Pigeon Forge was something I wish I was brave enough to try out and wish I had more time to stop by and try! The hotel was nice enough to offer me a round for the rollercoaster during my stay here, and I would’ve enjoyed getting some nice photos as well as they host photo contests, but I decided to give it a try another time when I could make a larger itinerary during a stay in Tennesse.

After Checking out the rocky mountain rollercoaster’s Instagram it looks like a fun place to schedule your trip and the best part of the ride experience is that they offer amazing light shows and make fun themes during holiday seasons for family and friends to enjoy. Currently, they are offering an opportunity called Winterfest fun where you can share your story to enter the photo contest for a chance to win a 2-night stay at the Margaritaville Island hotel, along with their merch!

I am still bummed that I didn’t take full advantage of the amazing smokey views as the drive there was honestly jaw-dropping and a memorable trip into nature, and I wanted to be there in the moment and not reach for my camera for photos, However; I sure do wish I had more time to plan out content to take photos in the mountains!

I did put this in my schedule to do the last day or at least the day before to beat the sunset for those amazing views, but my guest and I didn’t want to waste the rest of our night driving the opposite way of coming here and being stuck in the mountain pathway loop for photos and risk being stuck as there is some serious wildlife out in Tennesse.

I am excited about traveling to Tennesse again and planning some more adventures.

I especially want to thank the team and Manager Rennie Carrol for making sure that everyone’s experience at The Island At Pigeon Forge is a memorable one and an experience for others to want to come back!
