INNSIDE NYC EXPERIENCE

(Solo Travel Experience In New York!)

Ever thought about moving to a big city, or the big Apple? I definitely have! Even with what’s going on with the current state of the world and the Pandemic. It took a toll on everyone, and it also made adjustments in people's lives as far as working, traveling and making big decisions. I recently decided to travel to New York as a solo Experience to see what it’s like post pandemic. With knowing that over hundreds and thousands of people fled and moved back home, it made it easier for me to want to go during this time to see the current state of things.

I knew it wouldn’t be the safest time to go as pandemic rates are fluctuating, but a wiser time to scope out a realistic point of view on if I would want to move there in the next upcoming year or two. I am originally from up north and spent my childhood living 3 hours from New York city growing up in Delaware. Before starting middle school and now as an adult, I became used to the south as I moved to Atlanta ages ago. Since then, I never looked back.

I’ve always been used to the cold, and the atmosphere of being up north. How you can turn down one street and end up in a complete different environment, to the food trucks and quick convenient stores. All these played a factor in my decision making with choosing if I would ever want to move back up north after completing my studies here at my University. This trip was for me to experience New York not just to catch a train ride and be there and head back home, but to just get a full few days experience.

I want to thank @innsidenewyorkcity http://www.instagram.com/innsidenewyork for hosting me on my stay and making this a super cool trip for me! It’s always good to stay somewhere right in the mix of things and I was thrilled to be able to experience such a warm, inviting atmosphere during the chaos of the city and this stay was like no other!

Upon my arrival, Innside New York greeted me with the best team/staff anyone could ask for in a hotel. They first were very strict on taking everyone’s temperature including guests to make sure that everyone was safe which I really enjoyed because not every hotel is taking this protocol. Although it was just me and I didn’t attend to have any visitors, it was reassuring to know that they are putting safety first.

I checked in on the day of my Birthday 11/11 so they were aware of it being my Birthday and planned ahead of time for an extra surprise. Cake, Sparkling water which I must say now I am hooked on and even Cafe gift cards for my guest and I. The room was phenomenal and had amazing views from the 19th floor, and I really enjoyed how spacious the room was. Mainly because that’s hard to come by in New York, but I suppose hotels in New York vs. Apartments are more generous with the space.

I was ecstatic every-time to be able to walk back into the room after a full day of experiencing the city, and always greeted with the best city views of New York. The room gave off bright, airy and sophisticated vibes. This was the first hotel I could honestly say felt more like a cozy apartment and was more like an actual feel of a home rather than just staying in a room; Which made my stay 10x more special.

Views From Innside New York

Throughout the times of me being in New York for this stay, it wasn’t the best Weather. I tried waking up at 6am to start my day to be one step ahead of the rain; but by time I reached my destination or had to walk to where I was planning on going the rain had other plans. This was the most frustrating part of my trip, but the best part I enjoyed was going on little cafe runs and scoping out new areas to take different photos.

The main thing I saw that New Yorkers have in common is that it’s a big pet friendly place! Every street I walked down seemed like a dog fashion-show. Specifically small breed dogs are popular in New York, and this only made me more motivated to become a dog mom and have the perfect dog that can just get me outdoors and explore more.

I had times where I ended up being lost within Times Square, Greenwich Village and did some restaurant hopping because of not seeing anything satisfying on the menu, but it was really a great experience to find a sense of direction and adjust to the city. I was eventually able to catch up with friends and family that were in the area and enjoyed togetherness again after being Quarantined for a while.

This Trip was everything I needed to feel free, sane and relaxed for more opportunities to come no matter how many lockdown orders we never seemed to get away from.

I believe it’s important that throughout the chaos of it all we find a way to stick things out together and remember that the purpose of life is to be happy, give and to also receive. After this stay in New York I realized that this was great for breaking away and to visit ever so often for productive purposes and to catch up with friends every now and then, but there’s no way I could feel the need of wanting to pack all my things up to live here and pay amounts of rent. This feeling might change over time, but once I got back to the Florida and GA area I felt more humbled with my spendings and felt more of a purpose of life that I felt when I was in New York City.

I came back with the feeling of being appreciative for the hustle and bustle, work ethic and opportunities that are out there and also at our fingertips that we have and the chance every day to work toward our goals; and more importantly I felt a stronger urge to SAVE big time toward something I will really enjoy. Whether its property, something materialistic or something that’s needed for everyday life. No matter what our goals are and traveling ventures are it will always be an open book to start writing in and working toward
